Gravel extraction and the formation of the Maas Lakes
Along the route, you will come across information boards that show how the Maas Lakes were formed. Through text and images, you discover how the area developed over some 40 years from a working landscape into a water-rich environment. Several boards were created in collaboration with WML and provide additional insight into the use of the water.
From lakes and meadows to castles and mills
You walk through varied landscapes such as St. Anna’s Beemden, Boschmolenplas, Antoniusplas, the Polderveld and the Lange Vlieter. Along the way, you also pass castles and mills. Water, wide views and cultural elements alternate constantly, giving each stage its own character.
